What replacement HD do I need?

Trevor

Just taken 2 faulty HD's out of a fairly old PC.

HD 1 is Maxtor Diamond Max 10 Model: 6L080P0 80 GB PATA133 HDD

HD2 is 40Gb AT Maxtor D540X-4K

What typo should I be looking for (e.g. on EBuyer site)?

I have no idea what "fairly old" means, but you should stick with IDE
parallel ATA (PATA) drive and probably shouldn't get anything larger
than the largest one you're replacing, in case your MOBO won't
recognize larger disks.

Brand doesn't matter.

As Uncle Grumpy said you'll want to stick with IDE drives. Drives from
Maxtor, Seagate and Western Digital are all solid choices.

You'd probably be good going up to 120GB as far as hard drive size. Beyond
that you could run into issues going over 137GB.
