two types of Internet connection

[SANTANDER]

How to configure two types of Internet connection in one PC, connection via
Broadband Cable modem and via DSL line?
Access via Broadband Cable modem is default connection, already configured,
and want add DSL connection and switch to DSL when cable internet is down.
How make this better?

I dont want use third router in addition to this two ones. Will switch
manually. I meant how to configure windows network settings.

What hardware does your present network consist of?

Have you read any articles pertaining to *metrics* related to networking?

What OSs are involved, and where, exactly, do they connect within the
network.

[SANTANDER]

No network, just one PC, connected via Thomson TCM 420 Broadband Cable
Modem (1 WAN port/1 LAN port) which is connected to ISP router, via tv
cable.
For DSL (another ISP) I plan FRITZ! Box Fon ADSL Modem/Router (ADSL router
with integrated firewall, DHCP server, etc) or other AVM Fritz Box modems.
As to OS.. currently win 98, will upgrade to XP soon.

You will be setting the network metrics for the individual adaptors.
Basicly, setting one higher than the other [primary], with fall back to the
secondary.

The TCP/IP must be set properly regarding gateways, and other, so when your
ready and have read a bit so you understand, we can help you with any
difficulties you may have once you get whatever devices you intend to use.

Have you tried
(If you ISP "logs you on" through your Modem identity ),
Change the cable input to the Modem to be used, reboot and,
Open up Start -> Run and type
ipconfig /flushdns
Your connection to that ISP should be live.?
