If the ICS option in MSIE is selected, the machine that is to be the host is
the only machine that needs this enabled. NAT is enabled by the host to the
clients. What about the host? Does it too have NAT to the Internet or is it
exposed to the trolling bots, hacks etc? Is it possible to have a type of
[single
device router] NAT effect to the host using ICS?

The ICS host's external IP address is exposed. ICF is to protect. Do not
assume that hardware routers are bug-free and provide better protection than
ICS/ICF.

Netwok layer entities do not protect from trolling bots. Speaking of which:
