Can anyone tell in a sentence what this is and do I need it ?
More specifically, whilst rummaging around the innards of the firewall
module in AVG 8.0 Internet Security suite,
After setting my three detected "Adapters and Areas" to use the "Standalone
Computer" profile, ....talk about stabbing around in the dark !!!! ...and
trying to reign it in !
....anyhooooo, ....
I noticed that drilling down into Tools | Firewall Settings | Standalone
Computer | Applications ...and casting my eye down through this list,
"RunDLL32" is set by default to "Block"
....is it the case that legitimate software in my machine should continue to
be allowed to RunDLL32.exe *.dll's but, having the firewall block it gives
some sort of protection, or could it cause problems ?
TIA, for any enlightenment.
regards, Richard
