It's Hidden. To see it, open Windows Explorer, go to the Tools menu, then
Folder Options (or to the View menu, Folder Options), click on the View tab
and for Hidden Files choose "Show All Files." While you're there, uncheck
the item that says "Hide file extensions for known file types". Click OK.

As gary said, they are 'hidden',,,,, can you explain why microsoft made such a simple file
hidden? I always get stumped on microsofts logic,, just sometimes doesnt seem
'logical', unless there is something sinister behind it. surely it took xtra programming time, and
maybe even over-time pay for this to be made to happen.

When the programers were told by their boss, (bill) to make the 'Recent' files hidden, did any of
the programers ask why, ? or did they simply make it so and pick up their pay check on friday?
(or was bill harassed by the govt to make it so?)

I got a sneaky suspicion that micro and govt's are in cahoots,,,, always snooping and prying so
it seems...... even back in the day of win98.
anyhow............

Shut up, Dan. Go take your meds. Go call your mother. Go call the men in
white coats.

Since I'm not sure of the diagnosis, it's hard to say. Such behavior can be
from either cause -- lack of meds or too many. Lots of drugs have these side
effects, as do withdrawals. But so do some prevalent diseases. I don't think
we've ever pinned it down in Dan's case.

When I was young, I once lived with someone a LOT like Dan for a few months,
off meds. It took a while to grasp the extent of his disconnect, and I
*think* it was schizophrenia. Dunno for sure. Hardest part to deal with was
the continuous, unbelievably intricate, almost impossible to disbelieve,
pathological lying.
