Error on page.

When opening Sports in Yahoo, or any of its related categories, the pages
come up, but with errors. The message is: "Error on page", w/o. quotation
marks.
How does this happen and is there a way to fix this?
Supposedly it is a registry problem, but in order to avoid disaster, I need
to know the exact nature and procedure to eliminate the culprit(s).

Others will likely pipe in with better sometimes these crop up when either
your scripting, Java, or other is either restricted, or out of date/lacks
support for whatever was scripted... OR the page is not specifically
designed to support the browser being used.
There are several additions which pages MUST carry to support the functions
of the various browsers. Most developers do not included them on their page
or in the styles/CSS.

Normally, in the past, I would first suggest you install (or over-install) Windows
Script 5.6 for Windows 98, Windows Millennium Edition, and Windows NT 4.0:

However, that update seems to have disappeared from Microsoft's web site. You may
have to use the Windows Update Catalog to find it.

How to download updates and drivers from the Windows Update Catalog
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=323166

Go to Windows Update
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

In the left-hand pane of the browser window, click "Windows Update Catalog" under
"See Also". If it is not there, click "Personalize Windows Update" under "Other
Options", then put a check in the box for "Display the link to the Windows Update
Catalog under See Also", and click "Save Settings"

Now go back and select the link to get to the catalog.

Click "Find updates for Microsoft Windows operating systems"

In the operating systems box, select Windows 98 and Windows 98 SE, then click
Search.

Click the category you want in the search results, then click the Add button on each
one that you want, to add it to the Download Basket. When ready to download, click
Go to Download Basket.

Browse to and select the folder where you want to download and save the updates,
then click Download Now.

Hopefully those instructions still work.
