Help - Kernel32 Error Messages

Hi all,

after trying out a new program yesterday, then deleting it using Total
Uninstall, whenever I attempt to start the following two programs, I
now get the following Kernel32 error messages.

I tried the registry replacement with a previous one, the IE Fix, the
MCRepair and none of these has fixed the problem. Checking the
Kernel32 version, I have version 4.10.2222. Can anyone give me some
advise as how to fix this problem? Will appreciate any assistance.

Here is what mine looks like in Win98SE...

KERNEL32.DLL
Desc: Win32 Kernel core component
Loc: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM
Size: 471,040 bytes
Mod: Friday, April 23, 1999 10:22:00 PM
Ver: 4.10.2222

It's never been updated. If yours looks just like that, I would believe...

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=319508
An Invalid Page Fault Occurs in Kernel32.dll Because of an Uninitialized Critical Section
.......Quote..............
CAUSE
The error message occurs if a program or driver calls the Win32 EnterCriticalSection function with the address of an uninitialized CRITICAL_SECTION object. In this situation, Windows is behaving as it is designed to. The software that is listed as the cause is responsible for the error.
.......EOQ..................

Something has happened to Sentinel 1.1 & Spywall, I think. How hard would it be to over-install one of those, to see whether the problem goes away?

Reinstall both to no avail. I finally just used my Recovery Disk and
reinstalled everything. Back to normal :). Thank for the reply.

You are welcome. Uhuh. It is good to have that recourse. It has saved
even me a number of times. Very good-- very, very good! Keep that full
system backup up-to-date!

Is this the first time Total Uninstall has done you wrong (if it was
that), & out of how many occasions?

I would have to say yes to that it normally performs without any
trouble at all, if it in fact it was the culprit?? Oh, as soon as I
confident that everything is running smoothly, I will definitely make a
new backup :).

| I would have to say yes to that it normally performs without any
| trouble at all, if it in fact it was the culprit??

It could have been just a coincidence or a rare peculiarity, if Total
Uninstall worked so well before. Perhaps C:partition became overly
fragmented (if such a thing is possible) or some file was written to a
bad spot on the HDD, during Total Uninstall's machinations. I don't
know-- but thank goodness for full system backups! OK, then. Thanks for
the feedback.

| Oh, as soon as I

| a new backup :).

Yep. I did one, myself, not too long ago.
