---> I, too, am having this problem. The last error in the log is
0x80070005 however, the WU website shows 0x8DDD0007.

---> From the end of the log:

Install Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update
with error 0x80070005: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 7 for
Windows XP (KB950759).
***

Virus protection was turned off during install I use a hardware firewall.

---> What I've tried:
1 -- I tried using the AU Reset tool from Sheenan Stanley
(http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...date&mid=38beac09-b7f4-45ee-9c47-5c28fd2b974e).
After running his tool, I went back to the WU website & went through the DL
& installation of 950759 again. It asked me to reboot, which I did. After
reboot, the yellow shield is still in the systray

2 -- Tried following the troubleshooting steps offered on the WU website.

3 -- I have tried calling the PCSAFETY number for different WU issues in the
past (different computer), and the person's thick accent coupled w/ the
excessive background noise made it impossible to understand the tech.

---> I think this is the part of the log where it begins the 950759 update...
