Cannot Exend A Partition

J

Jason Freeman

I have the following partitions on my drive:

1.) 137 GB NTFS (Windows Vista)
2.) 4 GB (Unallocated)
3.) 6 GB NTFS (Windows Server 2008 Beta)

The Management Console will allow me to extend the first partition into the
unallocated space, but it will not allow me to do the same with the third
partition.

Any ideas? Thanks!

It only extends upward into unallocated space. You will need a third party
partition tool to move the third partition down then resize it.

It wont let you because the other partition is an O.S you will have to
removed server 2008 to do it

You cannot extend to preceding freespace, therefore you will need a third
party product. Make sure it is Vista compatible as the NTFS is different
for Vista and you may need to use it later to work with Vista partitions.
