Need help with server problems after joining a domain

Hello,

I have a Windows 2003 standard server installed from altris. It was working
fine until we had to reinstall Windows due HW failure.

Now everytime I add the server to the domain, that is controlled by two Win
2k servers, I begin to get serious problems. First error is that several
services like ipsec and task scheduler wont start. Second I noticed that my
network connections was totaly empty. Also I can't get to disk management.

I remove computer from domain, and computer returns to normal.

any idea what might be the cause of this problem.

Do you have a policy for the old server name? Try to rename the server using a different name after removing form the domain and then re-join it. Please post back with the result.

Yes I have tried another name for it. I have also removed the computer from
AD computers list a few times. No result.

Okay,

I changed RPC to start with localsystem instead of network service. Now I
got back my network devices and access to the domain.
