We are running Server 2003 on Compaq Prolian ML370, 6 SCSI hot-swappable
36.4G drives, 2 mirrored O/S and 4 Raid 5, software as no array controller
available for hardware raid. Originally, one HD failed. It was replaced and
the mirror recreated. Next, RAID array disks, 3 offline and failed. Ran HP
diagnostic and 3 of 4 drives tested bad. Replaced drives, recreated array,
restored data. Now receiving following error: An error was detected on device
\Device\Harddisk3 during a paging operation, EVENT ID : 51and SCSI Physical
Drive Status Change.
The SCSI physical drive with SCSI target 2 connected to SCSI bus 4 of the
controller in slot 0 has a new status of 10.
(Drive status values: 1=other, 2=ok, 3=failed, 4=notConfigured, 5=badCable,
6=missingWasOk, 7=missingWasFailed, 8=predictiveFailure,
9=missingWasPredictiveFailure, 10=offline, 11=missingWasOffline)
[SNMP TRAP: 5020 in CPQSCSI.MIB].
Disks are able to be reactivated, but eventually fail, however, it is a
different disk each time. HELP!

Hi:

I suggest you to call HP and bring a technician with a new SCSI controller,
cables and the back panel, change them and test the server.

Let us know how it goes.
