installer issues

how do i get to the screen in which you can edit windows installer? i need to
cancel an installation, but i dont know how to get there. I have XP, and
there isnt a window showing the installation progress, i need to find it.

Try your runkeys: Start/Run/Regedit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
