All the following URLs suggest that 100 is the default:

http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.ph...ncrease_max_connections_for_Windows_95_and_98
http://archives.seul.org/or/talk/Mar-2005/msg00140.html
http://www.janaserver.de/start.php?lang=en&menue=hilfe&content=faq&id=32
http://www.smartftp.com/support/kb/500-out-of-sockets-f23.html
http://www.gnu.org/software/serveez/manual/serveez_3.html

The relevant registry key appears to be this one:

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\MSTCP\

Hmmmm. I must have been in a dream when I said 10.
I looked (incorrectly) at MaxConnectionsPerServer in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings on a Win98 SE box and found 10. Checked it in MaxConnections:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows2000/en/server/iis/htm/asp/apro66pf.htm
and it still didn't dawn on me that I was in the wrong area.

Just another Senior Moment?

My apologies to the OP.

Don't feel bad....I was thinking exactly the same thing when I read the OP:
MaxConnectionsPerServer, which is 10. I don't think the original post was quite
clear enough in what was being asked....although Franc certainly picked it up
correctly.

That's only because I had no idea what "MaxConnections" meant, and
curiosity motivated me to find out.
