problems linking hotmail to outlook

[Highlander]

i have entered all the info coorectly into outlook to link in my hotmail
accoutn but i repeatedly get the window to enter pusername and pass word.
After many ticking of save passowrd the window finally stops popping up and
the error notification that outlook could not connet to the hotmai lserver. I
know I have entered all the data correctly as i have copied it off my old
laptop which linked in operfectly

Nothing really to do with winxp
You need to use the Outlook Connector to access Hotmail with Outlook
What version of Outlook is being used? presumably in winxp?

A way to do that is to use the import features of Outlook and Outlook
Express. If you're actually using Outlook, open Outlook Express and import
the Hotmail account settings. Then, export those settings from Outlook
Express. Copy the saved settings file to the new system, import it to
Outlook Express, then open Outlook and import them.

It's a little convoluted but the settings will be transferred properly.
