how do I get past logon and change password?

Is it a user password?
Can the user get on the admin account?

Get a copy of the freebie ophcrach cd iso from here:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=133599&package_id=167699

Burn the cd image and boot from it - it loads up a linux based windows password cracking routine. It does not attempt to write to your ard drive at all - just reveals the windows password for you. Don't be put off by the word "crack" - this is not illegal software - it is a valid system management tool from the well known sourceforge group to get people who have forgotten their passwords.

Lets put it this way: I wouldn't trust the source especially for password
hacking
