.dll error

Hello, My name is Craig am looking for software to reaper my laptop PC. I
cannot run must .exe and .txt files and my start bar is only showing the
log-off icon. I think it is a .dll error some ware. I have try-ed some
software but cannot run the .exe please help me.

Are you saying that you are unable to run any EXE files?

Restore the EXE association
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm
(click on EXE File Association Fix (Restore default association for EXE
files))

There is a NOTE there if you have trouble starting registry editor.
