Hello all, I just got a laptop and I need a windows 98 cd to download. can
someone tell me where to get one or how to download to my computer then put
on a disk, so i can put on the laptop?

Look on eBay. Even though they aren't supporting it any more,
Microsoft still owns the copyright on Win98 and dies not allow free
distribution.

dont even consider 98,, focus only on 98SE.

Be advised that some brands of laptops require
custom drivers (e.g. for the display screen) that you
will not find on a generic Win98 CD. Manufacturers'
web sites may provide these drivers.

It is nice to see that you are still posting here, Tim. I would suggest to
make sure and get a valid 98SE full copy that has a valid product key. In
addition, make sure the hardware on the laptop you got is not too advanced
for 98SE. For example, AFAIK no one has drivers for PCI-Express for 98SE
which is the next in line for video cards after AGP. I have to maintain a
careful balance between XP Pro. and 98SE which are on 2 seperate hard drives
on my computer to maintain the backwards compatibility and the ability to be
able to run modern applications except for a few new games of course.
