invisible files

A short while ago I downloaded a few files into a directory which at the time
didnt exist (dont ask me how it managed to put them there). I realized
afterward that the folder didnt exist yet they had somehow downloaded to that
location. I created the folder afterward yet to my surprise they werent there
still. BUT, heres the real mind bender. If i try to open up these files in
windows media player (they are videos) they load up just fine. However, I
cannot open them in windows explorer nor does windows vista acknowledge that
they exist if i try to move them to another folder in the file dropdown menu
in windows media player. Its weird, the files exist but they dont. They dont
take up space yet they do. Anyone have any ideas how i can make these files
visible?
Thanks

In Windows Media Player's library, can you go to one of your missing files,
right-click on it, and choose "Open File Location"? Or, if you're able to
play the file, in the List Pane, right-click on it, and choose "Open File
Location"?

I had this same problem a while back.
I changed the location of the download folder and it fixed the
problem.
You'll want to right click on those files in Media Player and copy
them, paste to a new location and then they will be visible.

"Copy the files and move them to another location. Everything should then be
OK. I apoligize for posting this answer as I am not a MVP.

Have a nice day.
