Dead entry in Control Panel

I have a dead entry in Control Panel. I removed the software (not
part of Win98). I removed all associations in the registry for this
program, yet that dead entry in CP remains. Where is that information
stored (what file)?

Could be a .cpl file, if memory serves me. Search for the .cpl files.

Never mind......
I found the problem. It's a .CPL file that needed to be removed.

Yes, thats what it was. I think you replied at the same time I found
the solution !!!!!
I had installed a prog called X-setup. I removed the program but that
CPL file was still there. So much for the uninstaller cleaning up all
the junk residue.
