Access denied to .pst file - no permission

I have a .pst file created in a previous version of Outlook and am trying to import (or open) it from a CD backup. It's telling me I don't have permission to open it. The file was created on a defunct PC. Will removing all default properties help? Any

ideas please. Thanks
