windows update installs on other partition

Can you explain

whether Windows Update can install outside

C: the default system partition I am using Windows 7 Ultimate

and have C: D: &ampE/ 3 partitions one 500GB SATA

Hard Disk it so happened in December 2012 that I

saw a Windows Update folder on

Computer / Local Disk D /Windows Update so can and or do Windows Updates install

outside the system partition if not

does Windows 7 have a problem what is the solution
