My brother has an old PC running Vista home basic will Microsoft still offer updates for this operat

The PC in Question says there are no important updates available just two optional ones, the last updates were done on the 13th of last month (Feb 2013 ).I would have accepted that there were no updates as Vista is an old system now, BUT when I ask PC to check for updates there is a message on the result page saying "You have Never installed any updates for your computer" , the list of installed updates

have vanished too.Are there any more recent Vista updates available?Where has the installed updates gone?Any help greatly appreciated
