WHEN UPDATING DO WE DELETE LAST ONE?

I OFTEN IGNORE UPDATING WINDOWS, BECAUSE THE FILES ARE RATHER LARGE AND I AM AFRAID THAT WITH ALL THESE UPDATES THE COMPUTER WILL RUN OUT OF MEMORY OR SPACE. DO WE DELETE THE LAST UPDATE WHEN UPDATING A NEWER ONE?ALWAYS CONFUSED
