Administrators AWS Posted March 14, 2013 Administrators Posted March 14, 2013 I'm aware that I probably won't get an answer to this, and I'm also aware that I'm a bit tipsy as well as pissed off right now. So there is a great need to rant... Why in the ever living **** is it necessary to forcibly restart my computer on some updates? Why can't Windows Update check to see if I'm doing something first? I've been playing StarCraft 2 for the last six hours or so and WU just decided, out of the blue, that my system needed to be restarted in the middle of a fraking match. REALLY... I understand that certain updates "effect currently in use system files" but the real point here in CURRENTLY IN EFFING USE! I also understand that this decision was made, on my behalf without my permission, at roughly 3:15 am CST but due directly to the fact that I normally get off of work at 1:30 am this is my normal evening hours (most peoples 7pm or so). So why in the name of all that is freaking holy can WU not check to see if I'm doing something (full screen check) so that I don't ever see the "would you like to delay this restart" pop up. Or could it be forced over the top of everything that is going on, so that way I would then have the knowledge that I need to Alt+Tab out just to tell Windows to hold its damned horses. In short, forced restarts for updates while I'm in the middle of something WTF, seriously. View this thread
