No matter how many different ways I have tried to download the updates for Vista they don't download. It says 0% complete no matter how long I let it run. I have MSE and based on some other forum comments tried turning off live protection and then updating

and that accomplished nothing. I also have Malwarebytes. Regardless, I don't want to uninstall and reinstall these programs to get updates, which would be ludicrously cumbersome. I don't yet have the service pack for Vista, and was going to get the updates

first and then get the latest SP.I am the administrator. It doesn't ask me for any passwords. There are no error messages. It just runs and runs and says 0% until I cancel it.If I hit check for updates, same thing, just runs and runs and doesn't find any or stop. However, the icon at the bottom right on the taskbar says I need 74 updates. This is very frustrating, and any help will be appreciated. It's so discouraging to try and do the right thing for your OS and get stymied. Thanks, Catsin
