can't run windows update or update windows defender. I ranthe update troubleshooter twice it said it

I got a message that Defender was out of date. Tried to run update but got connectivity message. Tried to run windows update and system stalls out every time. Ran troubleshooter two times. Each found and fixed errors, but still stalls out. Troubleshooter

said "stopping Bit service" each time.

 

I can connect to network and Internet. No network issues.
