I didn't really find anywhere to actually submit a notice to anyone mentioning the issue. It's currently resolved at the moment, but could very quickly happen again upon installing more updates. Twice now within the last few days, the headphone jack on

my laptop has failed after installing some updates, and then started working again after updates later that day. I can't find anything online, so I feel like this might be a fairly small issue. I know that it's not my laptop, I dual boot Arch Linux and it

works fine every single time on there. I don't have any exact evidence that it is Windows update, however the sound card drivers have not changed, and to happen twice exactly after reboot of installing updates seems like that is the only probably causeI have a Toshiba Qosmio x775. When this occurs, the speakers on the laptop still function, but when I try to plug headphones or speakers into the headphone jack on my laptop, they are both silent. Windows recognizes that something has been inserted, as it automatically

adjusts the volume setting when I plug it in and pull it back out. If anyone has any ideas to keep this from happening again, that would be appreciated. Obviously disabling updates isn't an option, since Windows has to update constantly for it's many security

flaws.
