i repeatedly get windows update error 80072f78, when i try to windows update.

My os is Vista home basic, genuine MS license.

Neither Vista SP 1 or sp 2 are, installed because windows update has never been used.

My anti virus is Avast free version, in addition to defender.

I connect to Internet directly, without a proxy.

 

Please help.
