MS Update - Install Outlook 2003 SP3 for Outlook 2007?

I have Office 2007 Enterprise ONLY on my PC. Yet recently, MS Updater wants

to install Office 2003 SP3. Why??? Anyone know? To say the least, I am

unwilling to install this update unless I understand why MS thinks it applies.

NOTE: I have NEVER had Office 2003 installed. Prior to Office 2007, I had

Office 2002 (XP) installed, and that was it.

Thanks for this info (both of you). Now the BIG QUESTION: if I have Office

2007 (which I do), can I uninstall Office 2003 Web Components, and still have

Office 2007 Web Components? Or are Web Components not offered in 2007, or

must one use the 2003 version?

2007 Office Web Components are not available yet. If the 2003 Office

Web Components were installed by Microsoft application other than Office

2003, then you cannot simply replace them with with the 2007 version.

If 2003 OWC are the only Office 2003 component you have, then I don't

think anything bad will happen if you decide you don't want to install

SP3 for Office 2003.

Those are the facts I need to know. Interesting that the MSOWCF file hasn't

been updated/released for 2007 yet. I would have thought that all the various

components would have been part of the distro.

So at this point I know to LEAVE the 2003 MSOWCF library on my PC, and that

installing the 2003 SP3 is optional.

Thanks a million for that info!

Dang, I need to stop replying to questions while talking on the phone...

what I wrote wasn't exactly English, but I'm glad you got the gist of it.

This is not the first time you have done it. A general peruse of your

recent posts has convinced me you are incapable of actually thinking.

Further more, I'm bemused how you ever managed to purloin that MVP

bauble!

You are a complete and utter idiot on this NG! With a name like that

what do you expect?

If you ever manage to purloin an MVP bauble, I'll be glad to compare

notes with you.
