Opening multiple drives in windows 10

In Windows 7 it was possible to go to one location, the windows icon at the bottom of the screen, (or one could click on Computer) where all the open drives were visible. One could then click on them to open them. Also, one could go back and open another drive and, so, have two or three open at the same time.

Also, in Windows 7, when you plugged in a drive it popped up on your desktop so you could then open it or not. Here, again, you could do this with multiple drives so you could work between them.

In this way, also, it was easy to drag and drop from one open drive window into another. This made backing up the computer quite easy.

Is this no longer an option with Windows 10? I need to work between multiple drives.
