After last 2 updates, Windows Explorer crashes when a Microsoft Doc / Excel / PPT file is selected

Whenever I select a file (Microsoft Doc / Excel / PPT) in any folder, the folder hangs and eventually Windows Explorer crashes.

 

This has been happening after after the last two Windows 10 updates. I am now at version 1803, using Microsoft Office 365.

 

 

I can only open files from the applications and am unable to move files into folders. Is there any other way to fix this other than having to download previous versions of Windows 10 and 'downgrading' back to previous versions?
