Inherited Laptop updated to Windows 10 Pro how to "Clean Install" and assume ownership?

I have inherited my cousin's old laptop which had the data transferred to his new machine before his death.

Since I didn't know his password, I have accessed the Sys 32 files using Linux and change the password so that I could log-in.

The machine has now updated to the Creators edition (1709) but I don't know how to "Assume ownership", I'm

receiving messages from Microsoft that "My (his) email account needs updating", and also that "My (his) gmail account needs updating".

Since I cannot access either of those, I wanted to remove his account but Googling this I find that it can create a total mess!

Can someone please advise me how to proceed?

I'm suspecting that the likely advice will be do a clean install!

Can I use the Bootable USB ISO created when I built my NUC Machine back in May 2016 which is also running Windows 10 Pro, or do I need to make a new one on the Target Laptop?

The laptop COA Sticker evidences: "Windows 7 Home Prem OA" but the machine is currently running Windows 10 Pro, for some reason.

I don't know if he had paid extra over and above, to get this instead of the "Home edition".

Will a clean install automatically select "Pro"?

So may questions!
