Guest Yesyamaha Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 HI I have been having a spate of different problems with my PC this month and some of them were directly caused by Windows updates I think. (my Nvidia Graphics card was running locked at 139mhz and default clock is 1506mhz) and disabling/enabling services in services.msc was what unlocked it!!! I also had a virus infection a couple of weeks back. I have this same installation of Windows for years now since I upgraded from Windows 7. I did reset the PC once about 6 months back but I kept my files and settings. The time I talked about when I reset my PC, I was getting problems with my system and sfc /scannow was reporting problems with system files but thankfully resetting Windows fixed it. Now however, sfc /scannow is again telling me that I have corrupt system files but resetting windows is not fixing the problem. (I have tried a complete reinstall as well as one with files and settings intact) The first thing I did after the system booted up was to run sfc /scannow and it again said I have corrupt files and it can't fix them (cbs.log shows several messages about duplicate or incorrect permissions in the windows folder) What can I do????
