Guest JCO Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Running Windows XP Pro WMP Version 11. Windows Media Player crashes when I try to play all types of videos. And I do mean all file extensions that are for videos (wmd, aif, mpeg, mpg, avi..... ect....). Most of the time, I send the report to MS but we know that does nothing. I converted the report to a PDF file but I don't think I can attach it to this post. If I can, then I will.... let me know. I can't do a rollback, I can't uninstall it. I've reinstalled it but have the same issues. I've tried decoder but that never helped either so I uninstalled them too.

Guest JCO Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 Lots to read and did a lot of it. Seems like lots of people have similar issues but not to many fixes. Some that I read had to do with a conflict of another player installed, but I don't have that issue. Lots of people having streaming issues too. I don't have that issue either. I can watch videos using the browser. Its when Media Player 11 (URGE) is running that I can't play videos (of any type). Guest JCO Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 An update to this issue. It seems to be a video card problem. I change the card and don't have the problem anymore. Thanks anyway "TaurArian [MS-MVP]" <taurarianREMOVECAPS@gmail.com> wrote in message news:OO9gxavBIHA.5328@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... > Windows Media Player NG > http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/community/newsgroups/WindowsMedia/default.mspx?dg=microsoft.public.windowsmedia.player&lang=en&cr=US > > This is also a recommended site for WMP - > Windows Media Player: WMP mini FAQ > http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html > > > -- > ==================================== > TaurArian [MS-MVP] 2005-2008 - Australia > ==================================== > How to make a good post: http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm > Defending your machine: http://defendingyourmachine2.blogspot.com/ > http://taurarian.mvps.org/index.htm > > Emails will not be acknowledged - please post to the newsgroup so all may > benefit. > > > "JCO" <someone@somewhere.com> wrote in message > news:igcNi.28322$Ww5.17772@trnddc03... > | Running Windows XP Pro > | WMP Version 11. > | > | Windows Media Player crashes when I try to play all types of videos. > And I > | do mean all file extensions that are for videos (wmd, aif, mpeg, mpg, > | avi..... ect....). > | > | Most of the time, I send the report to MS but we know that does nothing. > I > | converted the report to a PDF file but I don't think I can attach it to > this > | post.
