To remove this specific malware, follow the instructions at this link: http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/How-to-remove-MBS-account-manager-t160681.html It would also be wise to go through more generalized malware scanning also, not neglecting the preparatory work, as outlined here: http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware Standard caveat: If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local version of BigStoreUSA). Please be aware that not all local shops are skilled at removing malware and even if they are, your computer may be so infested that Windows will need to be clean-installed. Have all your data backed up before you take the machine into a shop. Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers http://www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" MS-MVP Windows - Shell/User Quote

Guest cbgerry Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 Install the following and do full scan: a-squared Anti-Dialer [working-freeware] http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/antidialer/ a-squared trojan remover (Free Working Version for life and Proactive Premium Version) http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/ You need a quality paid subscription antispyware software program installed to block these type of malware installations. It is most likely some fake spyware program running that is a fake to get you to fill in credit or bank card information (see pharming too) and then max out your accounts. CLIck NoThiNg ! If you cannot get antispyware install the free Microsoft Windows Defender - the ONLY free program among antivirus and antispyware programs with real time protection that is activated in paid security software - free ones do not have ! Microsoft AntiSpyware is now Windows Defender [working-freeware from Microsoft] http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx Security software has become a multi-billion dollar industry and for one reason - it works and everyone knows it obviously or they would not spend the money on it. Fake products may go up to the hundreds of thousands before they are well known fake products and people never mistake the purchase again -but not in the billions !! I am only saying all this because so many people in these boards say to use free stuff (joke). Don't listen to forum trolls or cybercriminals posing as them or academic hacks telling you to live off of free stuff (joke). Tell them to goose step on back to their unstable Linux OS free world - you're on Windows ! (Only one Unix Certified as secure and stable). Open Source free stuff is just not protecting all Windows Users yet - so that's that arguement. If you get charges you have got to hit the phone bricks to your Atty Gen office and FTC complaints immediately ! See the following FILE: FTC - Dispute Unauthorized Charges AdobePDF 80.6K Federal Trade Commission - How to dispute unauthorized charges made by unauthorized "Dialers" from your PC FILE LINK: >>>>> http://www.bluecollarpc.net/ downloads/modmalrt.pdf <<<<<Put the two together and click to download - or (better) go to Gov site or here: http://www.bluecollarpc.net/pcsafetyfiles.html (FILE SOURCE) Quote
