Guest YanB Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 First updates on this laptop. Tried 7 times now with same failed result. Windows XP Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool (KB892130) 07 October 2007 Windows Update Windows XP Update for Windows XP (KB898461) 07 October 2007 Windows Update Both fail to install with error code 0x80200011 Advice is to try again later - but I think 7 times is enough without finding the problem. Any help greatly appreciated! Yan
Guest Engel Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Hello YanB, 0x80200011 -2145386479 BG_E_MISSING_FILE_SIZE When BITS sends a HEAD request and server/proxy doesn’t return Content-Length header in the response, BITS puts the job in ERROR state with BG_E_MISSING_FILE_SIZE. BITS 1.5 puts the job in ERROR state with BG_E_INVALID_SERVER_RESPONSE error. Apache 2.0 proxy server is known to exhibit this behavior. The proxy doesn't support HTTP 1.1 correctly. Or the URL is a dynamic URL. BITS supports only static URLs Test this WGA diagnose test, connection to MS, that scripts working and a new Validation tool http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/diag/ Good luck "YanB" wrote: > First updates on this laptop.
