Guest Stan H Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 We have Windows XP SP2 with all updates installed. We followed the instructions in kb id=836941 and error 0x80072ee2 was resolved but now everytime we access Windows Update we receive a Security Warning. "The current Webpage is trying to open a site in your trusted sites list. Do you want to allow this ?" Obviously, we wanted to allow it or we wouldn't have added Windows Update to our trusted list. How can we suppress this warning ? -- windows novice
Guest MowGreen [MVP] Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 The only way not to see the warning is to remove the Windows update site from the Trusted sites list. Guest Stan H Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 Before we added Windows update site we were getting error 0x80072ee2 and the update/updates would not work. There must be some parameter we can change to get this to do what we told it. At my wits end !!! windows novice "MowGreen [MVP]" wrote: > The only way not to see the warning is to remove the Windows update site > from the Trusted sites list. > > > MowGreen [MVP 2003-2008] > =============== > *-343-* FDNY > Never Forgotten > =============== > > > Stan H wrote: > > > We have Windows XP SP2 with all updates installed. Guest MowGreen [MVP] Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Did you try the other steps listed or just stop after adding WU to the Trusted sites ?
