WDS 3.01

Hi there,

I've noticed today that wsus is pushing out an install of Windows Desktop

Search 3.01.

The Microsoft page for it, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917013 , doesn't

indicate that there is any enhanced security by installing this.

Is this using a security updates server to push out a new feature? I haven't

installed WDS before, and was wondering why WDS is been pushed through using

WSUS.

Cheers

Don't install it, it is buggy and causes a error message

with Outlook Express.

The error is that Outlook Express can't open [while it is

open] and that the storage folder is full.

Uninstalling WDS 3.01 did return the two systems to normal

operation. But I suggest you hold off until 3.98 or 4.01.

Thank you Jim for your response.

I was just curious why it is been pushed through WSUS, instead of us

optionally downloading from Microsoft website.
