Guest Martin Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 After serveral years with XP Home Edition, I recently updated to XP Pro. When running Microsoft Update, I get a list of required updates. I am able to download them and verify them, but they will not install. They ALL fail almost immediately. Any ideas what might be happenning? Did I miss some settings. Thanks for the help.
Guest Martin Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 I found the solution at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943144. Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP installation "Martin" <martin.shipon@verizon.net> wrote in message news:8hQTi.2991$f63.1508@trndny03... > After serveral years with XP Home Edition, I recently updated to XP Pro. > When running Microsoft Update, I get a list of required updates. Did you need the domain joining ability, the encryption or just more (easier really) control over the users? -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html
