Windows update - locks up IE7 no error msg

Any idea how to fix IE7 locking up w/o error msg when attempting to run

Windows Update??

Was the installed antivirus software actively monitoring the system when

IE7 was installed ? If so, suggest you uninstall IE7 from Add/Remove

Programs in the Control Panel. That will roll IE back to Version 6.

 

Then read this prior to reinstalling it : Pre-installation advice

OR, give this a shot: Problems with Web sites that use Add-ons (Active X

controls)

Yes, the antivirus software was running when IE7 was installed. thanks for

the tip, I'll try these fixes and get back.
