Guest Raptoruk Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 updates download but all fail to install, Dell suggest it is because my internal drive is now I: and not C: due to an error that they created on a previous reformat and are now insisiting that the only way is to back up my 500gb hd and reformat and reinstall but this time deactivating the usb controller so that it doesnt allocate the early drive letters to my multi card reader.I am appalled at this prospect of another back up and format isnt there any way to tell the 77 outstanding updates downloaded on my machine where to go ??? All my games install fine on the I: drive without prompting why not xp ?

All my games install fine on the I: drive without prompting > why not xp ? disconnect your multi card reader then restart click start, control panel, performance and maintenance, admin tools, computer management, disc management, then click on the disc listed as I: and change it to C: then restart your computer. after you restart your hard drive should be listed a the C: drive then shut down your computer and reconnect the multi card reader and everything should be fine
