Guest jimk0512 Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 I only download high priority updates using the Automatic Updates setting in Control Panel. When will these updates no longer be available via Windows Update?

Guest jimk0512 Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Looking at the links that you sent, it looks like Windows Update support ends on 4/8/2014 for Windows XP Home, for automatic updates. Or is it 4/48/2009? If automatic updates only downloads security hotfixes, then I think the 4/8/2014 date would be correct.
Guest TaurArian Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 It appears to me from the link http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/ that security updates continue through mainstream and extended support - 2014. Guest SAM-R Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Only SP2 is supported. Support for both XP and XP SP1 have been dropped. Also when SP3 comes out, the support for SP2 will change.
