Guest JonasRietdorf Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 This problem is very frustrating to me because I don't see where the issue lies in. Some months ago I bought a Windows 10 Pro key off of some site. Because it was very cheap I contacted their support and asked if it was legit. Turned out it was because I could use the Pro Key without any activation problems for months up until yesterday/today. Yesterday I received a notification for the new windows insider build in the fast ring. It downloaded and everything but when it was installing, observed in the windows settings, I shut down my PC when it was at 0 %. Today, I booted Windows 10 and received and annoying pop-up telling me to activate windows. Because I was convinced my key is all right I ignored it and continued using my PC. After a while I checked the system settings and navigated to the license settings. I received several more hints that my license was somehow deactivated: Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this. Goaglen Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 I had the same freeze out Wednesday. After calling the number on the fatal error screen, I found out the site/people/pirate wanted $199.00 to "renew" my license. I stalled and said I wold take her phone number and call back once I determined the term of my license from the computer tech store which installed W10 Pro 10. She left ph # and name. I called my geeks. They said it was likely a scam and not to sign up, give info, or pay money. After that. The screen was released and normal function restored. I do not know what triggered the event. But it was as frightening as the Blue Screen of Death in previous versions of DOS. I do not know whether I have rebooted to verify my access to system, files, OS. Goaglen out Quote
