Guest Milo (MSPSS) Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 The way I see it http://www.python.org/download/releases/2.2.3/ that is a false positive perhaps for this is a dev application. but then again run as scan with other AV for 2nd and 3 part opinion about your case just so to make sure. http://safety.live.com http://housecall.trendmicro.com -- Milo MSPSS "Brettster" wrote: > Got this during a scan of my computer: > > infected: object C:\hp\bin\python-2.2.3.exe:\comparisons.html > > result: trojan horse PHP/MPack.B > > status: infected embedded object > > inefected: object C:\hp\bin\python-2.2.3.exe > > What can/should I do about this? > > Thanks for your help. > > Brett > > Quote
Guest JJ Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Mine says 2.2.1exe I ran my AVG spyware and it found nothing, yet I scanned again with AVG AV and it says the same thing, I am totally confused. Should I also run the safety.live thing, and if so, do I just click on the full scan? Sorry but never used it before. Thanks for any help. Guest JJ Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 I just read on the AVG forum, many folks have gotten this threat today, it is a false positive. To clear it, update your virus definitions and then run another scan. The new update is suppose to fix it. I did an update, then another scan, and it finally came back clean. Seems it isn't going in people's virus vaults. Hope this helps........:-) "Milo (MSPSS)" wrote: > The way I see it http://www.python.org/download/releases/2.2.3/ > that is a false positive perhaps for this is a dev application. > > but then again run as scan with other AV for 2nd and 3 part opinion about > your case just so to make sure. > http://safety.live.com > http://housecall.trendmicro.com > > > -- > Milo > MSPSS > > > "Brettster" wrote: > > > Got this during a scan of my computer: > > > > infected: object C:\hp\bin\python-2.2.3.exe:\comparisons.html > > > > result: trojan horse PHP/MPack.B > > > > status: infected embedded object > > > > inefected: object C:\hp\bin\python-2.2.3.exe > > > > What can/should I do about this? > > > > Thanks for your help. > > > > Brett > > > > Quote
