IIS Sample website and scripts

I need to do the hardening of the IIS running on windows 2000 .

 

need to remove the sample website and sample script.

 

May I know where is the location of the sample website and the sample script ?

Yes, if IIS is installed in an unchanged form.

The default location was in inetpub where you would see

directories for the sample and the scripts

 

For that old version of IIS what you should do is download

the IISlockdown and updated URLscan toolset from the MS

website and run these. Also, check out the info, if it is still

available, for IIS 5 of W2k or IIS 5.1 of XP (same), in the

security guidance papers/checklists

I would reccomend moving to IIS 7 it seems to be very solid!
