Guest E-Double Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 During Windows Updates for an WinXP,sp2 machine the following error appears: Error ox8024400e. The error page says to just close the browser and try again. Internet searches for this error do not reveal very much, but two sites that did have it listed had the solution as reinstalling WSUS which we are not using. Any other advice on how to resolve this issue would be appreciated. TIA ...
Guest Engel Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 0x8024400E WU_E_PT_SOAP_SERVER The message was OK but server couldn't process at the moment. Same message may succeed at a later time. 1.- Please try tomorrow. 2.- If that doesn't help :- Rename the SoftwareDistribution folder (it will be recreated next time you visit WU again) You will lose your history but that's not importªnt. Click Start, Choose Run. In the Run box, type services.msc. Click OK. Right-click the Automatic Updates service. Click Stop. Stopping the service will take a mºment. Rename the "SoftwareDistribution" folder: a. Click Start, click Run, type %systemroot%, and then click OK. b. Right-click the SoftwareDistribution folder, and then click Rename. c. Type SoftwareDistribution.old, and then press ENTER to rename this fºlder. Click Start. Choose Run. In the Run box, type services.msc. Click OK. Right-click the Automatic Updates service. Click Start. Starting the service will take a mºment. Good luck -- "E-Double" wrote: > During Windows Updates for an WinXP,sp2 machine the following error appears: > Error ox8024400e.
