Guest Joan Archer Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 I believe that a new install of XP only shows a couple of icons and any others are shortcuts that you put there yourself if you want to. Guest TaurArian [MS-MVP] Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 To add the My Computer, My Network Places, Internet Explorer, and My Documents icons back to your desktop: 1. Right-click the desktop, and then click Properties. 2. On the Desktop tab, click Customize Desktop. 3. Under Desktop icons, click to select the check boxes of the icons you want to view. 4. Click OK two times. -- ==================================== TaurArian [MS-MVP] 2005-2008 - Australia ==================================== How to make a good post: http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm Defending your machine: http://defendingyourmachine2.blogspot.com/ http://taurarian.mvps.org/index.htm Emails will not be acknowledged - please post to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
