Disconnect the system from the internet if on broadband. COMPLETELY disable the installed antivirus software from ANY monitoring of the system. ** Please consult the Help file of said AV or the manufacturer's web site for details on how to do so ** Install WindowsXP-KB902400-x86-ENU.exe and restart the system if requested to. Reenable the installed antivirus and then reconnect the system to the 'net. If the update still fails to install, then please go to Start > Run > copy & paste this into the Open: line - %windir%\KB902400.log Click OK or press Enter Copy and paste the LAST two sections of the log into your reply. They will be separated by ====================================== if multiple attempts to install KB902400 have been made.
