Guest John K. Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 I have been using OE for years and just recently incurred this problem. Running XP home edition. I have gone to Add/Remove programs and clicked on the set defaults and set Windows as the default, etc. That didn't work. Then I selected custom and set Outlook Express as the default email. That didn't work. I have also gone to OE tools and options and selected "set OE as default. That doesn't seem to work. Everytime I start OE, I get the message that OE is not my default email and would I like to make it the default. Any suggestions for a fix would be appreciated.
Guest Peter Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 This would be better placed in the Outlook Express group. I tried the suggestion. When I did a search for "C: etc. I came up dry. A couple of weeks ago I tried to move OE to my E drive to free up space on my C drive. It didn't work and so I thought I had moved it back. When I went to OE on the E drive I found the msimn file and so I moved it to the C drive. It just says msimn and not msimn.exe. Then I went and did everything suggested and also went to add/remove and reset the defaults and also went to OE tools/options and set the default and rebooted. I still get the message that OE is not the default when I open OE. >
