Guest stormigrl Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 I keep on trying to get help with this from various people at Microsoft and keeping coming up empty-handed. Starting to get the feeling they don't know either. Ok I have Windows XP SP2 (I'm using my browser as IE7) I get all my updates in my e-mail, and my virus stuff is all updated meaning I have no viruses (that is) Norton Checked, AVG Checked. I tried the Resolutions offered to me on the Windows Update Error reasoning page and still "No Cigar"- didn't work!! Stated reason for problem: This error may occur if there is a content mismatch in the DataStore folder Applicable Operating Systems: - Windows 2000 - Windows XP - Windows Server 2003 Now I'm feeling all flustered because of this stupid thing. It's so bad, I can't Update ANYTHING to do with Microsoft: Not Updates Express, Not Windows Update and all that other "fun" stuff in Microsoft Updates has to offer. If any of you have found a way to get the necessary updates for this issue please do contact me. Because I've seriously lost my patience. Cheers,

Having it actively monitoring the system along with AVG will cause more issues. Disable one of the AVs from real time monitoring of the system Then repair BITS: http://www.castlecops.com/postlite106642-bits.html Additionally, if IE7 was installed with either/both of the AVs actively monitoring the system, then there may/will be other issues present.
